This was the topic of the 1-hour speech to the XXII Annual Meeting of the Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents, presented by our CEO Elitza Stoilova, herself an industry professional with over 20 years of experience in the industry. The presentation covered various applications of AI, ChatGPT, and AI chatbots in the hospitality and tourism industry, and what businesses in this industry can do today to be competitive tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Elitza drew attention to the fact that Google and Microsoft&#8217;s (Bing) experimental AI chat search engines can now create custom itineraries based on traveler preferences, taking into account factors such as traveler type (adults, kids, with a dog, etc.), budget, time constraints, and points of interest, simplifying the trip planning process to a conversation with the search engine. The demos of both 2 giant companies are right on with examples from the travel industry.<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT can write promotional texts, emails for a specific group of users, video scripts, blog posts, and other texts for social media. And much more.<\/p>\n<p>Dall-e and Midjourney can draw images based on set text, which already benefits travel businesses in our country.<\/p>\n<p>AI chatbots are also becoming a mainstream service not only globally, but also in the travel industry here at home &#8211; for hotels and other accommodations, spas, travel agents and operators, and more.<\/p>\n<p>In such a work environment, tourism professionals should start testing and practicing the use of AI tools to optimize their work and communication with customers and focus on what AI cannot do: up-to-date information, deep knowledge &#8211; in detail, of itineraries, attractions, destinations, dynamic customer support throughout the travel process (before, during and after), and proactive participation in it.<\/p>\n<p>More in the article published in Bgtourism.bg.
