The National Discussion Meeting “The Library – Idea and Reality”

Happy birthday to the Varna Regional Library “Pencho Slaveykov”. 140 years ago, “Pencho Slaveykov” Regional Library opened its doors, and for 5 years Ellie – the digital librarian made on our platform helps readers to get answers to their questions or to re-assign borrowed literature, etc., to free the library team to have time for more valuable tasks.

We congratulate Varna Regional Library “Pencho Slaveykov” on their anniversary and wish them more success in the future as we support them on their journey to digitalization. After all, the time of chatbots in libraries came a long time ago in the Varna Regional Library! We hope more libraries follow its example.

We also congratulate the visionary behind this and many other digital projects of the Varna Regional Library, the director Radka Kalcheva.

On the occasion of its 140th anniversary, the library is organizing a conference today with discussion panels such as our CEO, Elitza Stoilova, is one of the discussion panels that will speak on the topic “The library in the age of artificial intelligence – between the possible and the impossible”.

The forum provides a meeting and debate space for various specialists related to books, libraries and reading, as well as prominent cultural figures, writers and reading people from all over the country. The discussion meeting aims to put on the table the hot questions about the place of the library in the information society and the social infrastructure, as well as to present all the roles of the library in today’s globalized, digital and technological world.
